It was a beautiful day yesterday and a perfect one for walking in NYC. My destination was the Hilton Hotel for the Simply Italian Wines US Tour 2014.
After attending one of the many seminars on Veneto Wines, I went on a “walk around tasting” that was represented by many regions. I couldn’t get to all the tables…so many wines…so little time! However, I tasted some excellent wines ranging from bubbly and light to powerful and memorable. Over the next few days, I will share my thoughts on some of the wines I had the pleasure of tasting.
I’ll start with the Cesconi Winery. Their vineyards are located in two different areas of Trentino, which is reflected in the complexity of their wines. I tasted a Manzoni Blanco 2012, which is a Riesling blend, a Pinot Grigio 2012, a Nosiola 2012, a Moratel 2011 and Pletter 2009. Now on to the rest of the day!
