Penny Weiss is primarily a wine and spirits writer but enjoys including food and travel in her articles. She is the owner and publisher of The WineKnitter which takes you on a journey to discover wine, spirits, culture, and cuisine worldwide.
Penny began her serious foray into the world of wine when she was part of three successful family-owned restaurants in New York City. She has an extensive presence on social media sites, and her education is ongoing with wine seminars, wine tastings, and culinary delights worldwide. In addition, Penny enjoys travel and has participated in numerous press trips to wine regions such as Franken, Germany, Jumilla, Spain, Alentejo, Portugal, Bordeaux, France, and countless wine regions in Italy.
She studied at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, completed WSET Level 2 Certification with Distinction, as well as Level 3 advanced certification in wine. Her sensory examination and evaluation of wine and food are noteworthy. Penny is a member of the prestigious Wine Media Guild and the former wine editor for Santé Magazine.
