My friend and I went out to lunch yesterday to celebrate her birthday. We went to a lovely Italian restaurant where we laughed and shared heartwarming stories over a long and leisurely meal. We dined on lobster salads and drank Ernesto Picollo’s Gavi di Gavi, a dry white wine.
Gavi di Gavi is made from the Cortese grape whose existence is reported to date back to the 17th century. The wine was straw colored and medium bodied with hints of citrus including lemon, grapefruit and a touch of tart apple. It had a floral bouquet and I enjoyed how crisp it was. It definitely complimented our lunch.
All in all, a great day!
